Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 2025 is a year-long national celebration marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and 150 years of “Vande Mataram.” It honours the resilience, patriotism, and cultural richness of India’s tribal communities while promoting inclusivity and unity.
Led by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) with support from Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs), State Governments, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), and cultural organisations, the initiative celebrates the contribution of tribal heroes to India’s freedom, identity, and development. It also highlights the enduring strength of tribal culture in shaping national values.
Public events, exhibitions, and Janjati Gaurav Yatras showcase tribal heroes and their historical role in India’s freedom and identity.
Schools and colleges organise competitions, workshops, and heritage visits to spread knowledge of tribal history and inspire pride among youth.
Digital and financial literacy programs in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) strengthen socio-economic inclusion for tribal students.
Mass singing of “Vande Mataram,” sports meets, and art exhibitions foster national pride and unity across regions.
Special state-level events in Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Nagaland, and Ladakh blend traditional tribal culture with modern aspirations.
The Janjati Gaurav Yatra (Tribal Pride March) began from Ambaji and Umargam and reached the Statue of Unity (Ektanagar) from 7th to 13th November 2025.
The march featured widespread participation, spreading awareness of tribal heroes’ contributions and symbolising unity and pride within the national framework.
Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 2025 reaffirms India’s commitment to tribal empowerment, cultural preservation, and inclusive growth.
The nationwide celebration connects heritage with progress, strengthening unity, pride, and social harmony while honouring the enduring spirit of tribal India — a true reflection of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
