Recently Finland has announced that Finland will close its last remaining road border with Russia due to its concerns over migration.

  • Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has said Finland will close its last remaining road border with Russia due to concerns over migration, as the country accused Moscow of undermining Finland's national security.
  • Finland has already closed seven of its eight checkpoints on its long border with Russia this month following a surge in arrivals of migrants from the Middle East and Africa.
  • The total closure announced by the Finnish government will last for at least two weeks, after which a crossing point can be reopened.
