 Why in the news?

The World Bank, in partnership with the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India, has launched the PPP Beginners e-Course.

Important points:

• World Bank President Ajay Banga launched Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Beginners e-Course in the presence of Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth.

About PPP Beginners E-Course:

• The PPP e-Course is an infrastructure-focused capacity-building program jointly launched by the Infrastructure Finance Secretariat, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) and the World Bank.
• The World Bank and the Department of Economic Affairs have launched a PPP Beginners e-Course to promote collaboration between the public and private sectors in infrastructure capacity building.
• The PPP e-Course is a grassroots-focused capacity-building program designed to provide foundational knowledge and insight to individuals interested in understanding and contributing to the dynamic field of PPP in India.
• This PPP course consists of 5 modules that cover key elements associated with the lifecycle of PPP projects, including
  • Introduction to PPP.
  • Identification of PPP projects.
  • Structure of projects.
  • Tender and Implementation.
  • Aspects of monitoring of PPP projects.

• Its course duration is 7 hours and 15 minutes but it is designed to be self-paced.

Objective:

• This course aims to provide foundational knowledge and insight to individuals wishing to understand and contribute to the dynamic field of PPP in India.
