About Pandavulla Gutta:
- Pandavula Gutta is also known as Pandavula Guttalu.
- It is a notable hill located in the Warangal district of Telangana, India.
- Its historical and religious significance lies in the belief that it served as a refuge for the Pandavas during their exile.
- Discovered in 1990, it predates the Himalayas and has a rich history spanning from the Mesolithic to the middle Ages.
- Pandavula Gutta is adorned with Paleolithic cave paintings, a rare glimpse of prehistoric human creativity.
- These paintings, found on walls, ceilings and individual stones, depict wildlife such as bison, antelope, tiger and leopard.
About geo-heritage sites:
- Geoheritage refers to geological features that are naturally or culturally significant.
- They provide insight into Earth's evolution or the history of Earth science or can be used for education.
