Recently, India won 3 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals at the IBA Junior World Boxing Championship 2023.
Important points:
- Three women boxers from India won gold medals at the Junior Worlds, placing them jointly second with Kazakhstan in tally (gold medals).
About IBA Junior World Boxing Championship 2023:
- It was held at MIKA Sports in Yerevan, Armenia from 23 November 2023 to 4 December 2023.
- A total of 26 countries' teams have participated in this championship.
- India's 26-member team won 17 medals including three gold, nine silver and five bronze medals in this championship.
- Overall, 12 Indians qualified for the finals which was more than any other country in this edition.
- The Indian women's team finished joint second with Kazakhstan in the table with three gold medals.
- Whereas, Russia stood first with 4 gold medals.

Silver Medal Winner: Ameesha (54 kg), Vini (57 kg), Srishti Sathe (63 kg), Megha (80 kg), Prachi Tokas (80+ kg), Jatin (54 kg), Sahil (75 kg), Hardik Panwar (80 kg). and Hemant Sangwan (80+ kg).
Bronze medal winners: Neha Lunthi (46 kg), Pari (50 kg), Nidhi Dhull (66 kg) and Kritika (75 kg), Sikandar (48 kg). |
