Why in news:

Recently, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities organized the cultural programme, “Divya Kala Shakti” through its Samagra Regional Center at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

 

Important points:

  • The event was attended by participants from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
    • In which a total of 100 disabled persons were included.
  • The program titled Divya Kala Shakti showcased everything from group dances, mesmerizing solo performances, group songs to mesmerizing solo performances and awe-inspiring special art.
  • This unique program organized by Central Holistic Regional Centers highlighted the hidden talents of persons with disabilities, unveiled the world of creativity.
  • A total of ₹300,000 checks were presented to the participants of the event as a mark of respect for their extraordinary talent.

 

About Divya Kala Shakti Program:

  • Divya Kala Shakti is a cultural program for disabled children and youth.
  • The program 'Divya Kala Shakti' has been organized since 2019.
  • It provides a comprehensive and unique platform to showcase the potential of persons with disabilities in the fields of art, music, dance, acrobatics etc.
  • Divya Kala Shakti is organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
  • The Divya Kala Shakti program is organized in different parts of the country.
  • Objective: The main objective of this program is to develop self-confidence among the persons with disabilities and to appreciate the hard work efforts of their parents and teachers.
